Benefits available through the MU Alumni Association

Life Insurance
The Misericordia University Alumni Association provides a life insurance plan, Life for Life, to its members and their families. It has fabulous features and the lowest initial rates we’ve ever offered – and they’re guaranteed for 10 years. Life for Life is appropriate for alumni at many stages of life:

** Newer graduates can use it as the foundation of their insurance coverage.

** Alumni with increasing financial responsibilities due to, for example, a growing family, a new home, or college-bound children, can use it to supplement existing coverage.

** Those nearing or already in retirement can use it instead of insurance formerly provided by employers.

Spouses, domestic partners, parents, and adult children of alumni are eligible to apply, even if the Misericordia University alumnus does not. Short-Term Medical Insurance
Short Term Medical insurance (STM) is available for graduating students, alumni, and their families. This high-quality, affordable insurance can fill the temporary needs of new alumni who may be without insurance after graduation or others who may have gaps in their medical coverage due to, for instance, unemployment.

Medical insurance is also available for special situations, such as:

** When coverage is needed for longer than six months – it is available for up to three years.

** For individuals who travel or live abroad from 15 days to five years.

** Full-time graduate students.

Home and Auto Insurance

Career Help
Insalaco Center for Career Services offers Alumni the following benefits free of charge: advisement on résumés, mock interviews, relocation services, career counseling, and job openings and references.

Continuing Education
Alumni receive a 33 1/3% discount on credited classes and a 50% discount off non-credited courses.

Publications
Misericordia Today, the college magazine is published biannually and includes events and campus news, and also class notes (announcements of engagements, births & other important information). Annual Donor Report, acknowledges gifts to the College, recognizing donors to the Annual Fund and Capital Campaign.

Relocation Discount
Alumni receive discounted rates when they use Matheson North American Van Lines.

Access to Campus Facilities

Fitness
$50 membership fee per semester to use the Anderson Sports and Health Center facilities, i.e. indoor track, weight room, racquetball and basketball courts, and swimming pool.

Bookstore
A 10% discount for alumni during Alumni Weekend.

Religious Services
Weekly mass in the campus chapel is open to alumni and the community as are special masses and celebrations during religious holidays.

Library
Access to all services at the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library, including free circulation.

Alumni Weekend
Alumni return to campus for one weekend a year to renew friendships and celebrate reunions.

Alumni Referral Program - Misericordia Proud!
Alumni can refer prospective students by completing a referral card. The student can have their application fee waived and he or she will automatically receive a $500 alumni grant. It is available to full-time, first semester freshmen.

Alumni Volunteer Program
Alumni can volunteer their services by participating at a college fair, sponsoring an internship, providing a job shadow experience, participating in the College’s Career Day, or serving as a class agent.
