Graduates of Misericordia University’s Social Work Program are employed in both direct service and administrative roles within hospitals, children and youth agencies, aging programs, nursing homes, adolescent treatment centers, drug and alcohol programs and numerous other social service agencies. Students have also been hired after graduation by the agency where they completed their field assignment.
The employment rate of BSW graduates has been exceptional throughout the accredited status of the program (since 1975). Students who accept positions outside the field of social services are pleased to discover that the problem solving and communication skills developed in their social work training are highly valued by employers.
The accreditation status by the Council on Social Work Education of Misericordia University’s Social Work Program affords students the opportunity for advanced standing in scores of MSW programs throughout the country.
TEMPLE UNIVERSITY's MSW program for working professionals is being offered on the Misericordia University Campus for students who prefer to remain employed and/or appreciate the geographic area. Completion of the graduate degree program on a part-time basis is projected to take 18 months after receiving a BSW degree from an accredited program. MU's BSW graduates, meeting the admission criteria, can anticipate a smooth transition into the MSW program.
