Dr. Halesey has been the department chair since 1984. She earned her A.A.S. in Radiologic Technology at Misericordia University, B.S. in Radiography Education at Bloomsburg University, M.S. in Human Services Administration at Misericordia University, and an Ed.D. in Higher Education at Nova Southeastern University. She is the 1996 first place winner in the Nycomed Inc. Scientific writing competition, the 1997 second place recipient, and the 1998 third place recipient. As a result, Dr. Halesey's 1996 manuscript has been published in the Jan/Feb 1998 issue of Radiologic Technology, the Journal of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). The 1997 manuscript was accepted for publication in the March, 2000 issue of Radiologic Science & Education, the Journal of the Association of Educators in Radiologic Sciences, Inc . In 2009, she co-authored an article with a senior student, published on www.rooj.com. In 1996,1998,2004, and 2005 she was nominated by former students for inclusion in Who's Who Among America's Teachers. She has been the author of several successful grant awards; the most recent funding the development of the Sonography Certificate Program. In addition to her administrative responsibilities as Department Chair, Elaine teaches Quality Management, Radiographic Exposure and Processing, Issues in Medical Imaging and Senior Seminar.
Paula Pate-Schloder is a faculty member in the Medical Imaging Department. She earned a Master of Science Degree in Educational Technology from Misericordia University. Paula completed her undergraduate studies in Medical Radiography at Northern Arizona University. Paula has a diverse background in radiography and health care administration. She has experience in CT, Special Procedures and as Chief Technologist. While serving as Director of Risk Management at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware, Paula earned the rank of Associate in Risk Management from the Insurance Institute of America. Her course load includes Intro to Radiography, Intro to Health Professions, Radiographic Special Procedures, Cardiovascular Interventional Technology, Cross-sectional Anatomy, Diagnostic Assessment and Clinical Education.
Lorie Zelna is a faculty member in the Medical Imaging Department. She earned her Master of Science degree in Educational Technology from Misericordia University in 1995. Lorie completed her undergraduate studies in Radiography education at Bloomsburg, PA in 1987 after successfully completing her Radiography training at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg, PA in 1985. Lorie has a diverse background in medical imaging, including radiography, CT and MRI. Her primary responsibilities include Radiographic Procedures I and II, Clinical Education, Patient Care, and Image Evaluation. Lorie has served as a Site Visitor for the JRCERT since 2001. She has participated in the ASRT House of Delegates, as one of two Pennsylvania Delegates, since 2009. She is currently enrolled in a doctoral program at AT Still University in Kirksville, Missouri.
Gina Capitano is a full-time faculty member of the Medical Imaging Department and serves as Clinical Coordinator of the Medical Imaging Department. She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Misericordia University. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Radiography from Misericordia University in 1998. Gina's background in medical imaging includes radiography with a concentration in orthopedics as well as MRI. Her primary responsibility, in addition to overseeing the program's clinical component, includes Clinical Education and Radiographic Procedures Lab.
Lynn Blazaskie is a full time member of the Medical Imaging Department serving as a Clinical Instructor. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Radiography from Misericordia University, graduating with cum laude honors. Lynn's primary role is providing instruction in educational services in the clinical portion of the Medical Imaging program.
