Students prepare to be business leaders at Entrepreneurship Institute
02-9-10

More than 130 students participated in 2-day program.
Thirteen undergraduate and graduate students at Misericordia University recently participated in The Great Valley Technology Alliance’s 2010 Entrepreneurship Institute at Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall on the campus of Misericordia University.

More than 130 college students from Northeastern Pennsylvania institutions of higher education attended the program. Students of various disciplines attended the institute, which provides students the rubric to start their own business. They learned how to build a business plan, raise capital and run a successful company — all the tools necessary to start a business today, tomorrow or 10 years from now.

The two-day program featured Jeffrey Babin, M.B.A., senior lecturer and associate director of the Engineering Entrepreneurship Program at the University of Pennsylvania. He is also the founder and managing director of Antiphony Partners, LLC, a strategic consulting firm that specializes in helping companies create sustainable value through innovation.

The Entrepreneurship Institute is sponsored by the Northeastern Pennsylvania Technology Institute in cooperation with the Northeast Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Universities. The institute provides young people with the fundamental tools they will need to start a business, hopefully in NEPA.
