Department of Mathematics hosts annual Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties Mathematics Symposium

The symposium was held Sept. 22.
The Department of Mathematics at Misericordia University recently hosted the 3rd Annual Luzerne and Lackawanna Counties Mathematics Symposium in Huntzinger and Alden Trusts Rooms of Sandy and Marlene Insalaco Hall.

The Misericordia University symposium featured scholars from regional and local colleges and universities. The presenters, Dr. Pei Zhang, Wilkes University; Dr. Jason Graham, University of Scranton; Dr. Christian Laing, Wilkes University; Dr. John Best, Baptist Bible College; Dr. Michael W. Ecker, Penn State University/Wilkes-Barre, and Dr. Ken Monks, University of Scranton, each made 20-minutes presentations on topics in both research and teaching. Dr. Elizabeth McMahon, Lafayette College, served as the keynote speaker and gave a 50-minute presentation on mathematics in the game of SET.
