Students learn about economics, entrepreneurship at Future Business Executives Career Exploration Camp|
High school students participated in the Misericordia University Future Business Executives Career Exploration Camp in June which enabled the rising high school juniors and seniors to explore exciting careers in business, economics and entrepreneurship.
The Career Exploration Camps at Misericordia University are a popular destination for students who want to explore both college campus life and a potential career. Misericordia University offers nine popular academic camps every June in biology, business, chemistry-biochemistry, communications and media, English literature, nursing, occupational therapy, speech-language pathology and teacher education.
The Center for Economic and Entrepreneurship Education (CEEE) at Misericordia University, under the direction of Robert Williams, M.S., executive director of the CEEE, hosted the four-day, three-night interactive camp for high school students who are interested in understanding the fundamentals of economics and entrepreneurship.
Students who participate in the academic camp find it to be informative and worthwhile. Participants say they learn valuable lessons they can apply to their everyday and academic lives, according to annual exit surveys students complete. The camp is open to students entering 11th and 12th grades. Participants attend lectures by local business leaders and executives who share industry standards, innovations and expectations for new employees entering their industries. Students are also introduced to an ongoing economics curriculum they can access throughout the academic year.
