The Department of English at Misericordia University inducted five students into the Sigma Tau Delta International English Honor Society during an induction ceremony on campus.

Sigma Tau Delta was founded in 1924 and has about 800 active chapters in the United States, Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean. The society’s central purpose is to confer distinction upon students of the English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate and professional studies, according to the society.
 
Misericordia University students majoring or minoring in English are eligible for Sigma Tau Delta after completing at least three semesters in the program and maintaining a minimum grade point average of 3.2 in the major’s courses and a 3.0 GPA overall.
