Misericordia honors outstanding medical imaging students

Students received the award at the annual Honors Awards Banquet.
College Misericordia recently recognized the academic accomplishments of Megan L. Benjamin of Towanda, Pa.; Heidi B. Johnson of Centreville, Md.; and John F. D’Aiello of Avoca, Pa., during the college’s annual Honors Awards Banquet at the Banks Student Life Center.

Benjamin and Johnson graduated May 20th from College Misericordia with bachelor’s degrees in medical imaging. They were recognized with the Mallinckrodt Award for Academic Excellence in the Study of Medical Imaging, which is given to a traditional and non-traditional student who possess the highest overall grade point average at graduation, providing their minimum GPA is 3.30. Benjamin, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Benjamin, graduated summa cum laude. Johnson graduated cum laude.

D’Aiello graduated May 20th from College Misericordia with a bachelor’s degree in medical imaging. He received the Robert C. Fisher Clinical Excellence in Medical Imaging Award, sponsored by Reliance Medical X-Ray, which goes to the student who best exemplifies the qualities of cooperation, competition and dedication to helping others while achieving the highest standards of clinical excellence. The award is determined by faculty and clinical instructors at the six sites the students rotate at. D’Aiello is the son of Ms. Ann Marie D’Aiello. He is pursing an advanced specialization in Nuclear Medicine at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, Pa.
