FAMILY WEEKEND 2016

Friday, September 16th

8pm Hypnotist Keith Karkut, Lemmond Theater
Come experience the hypnotic sensation that is Keith Karkut! Enjoy his show of hypnosis and amazement!

Saturday, September 17th

9:30-11:30am Climb and Zipline, Outdoor Classroom (behind Mangelsdorf Field)
Join countless others as you scale the university’s climbing wall and enjoy a ride on the zipline! This is done by donation to local charity.

10:30am Cross Country Cougar Classic, Misericordia University and Dallas Township

11am-12:30pm Lunch, Metz Dining Hall

1pm Volleyball vs. Penn College, Anderson Center

1:30pm Paint With Passion, Insalaco Hall
Enjoy a Misericordia favorite, Paint with Passion! Seating is limited, arrive early!

2pm Field Hockey vs. Catholic, Mangelsdorf Field

3:30-4:30pm Lecture Series, see below for locations

“It's a Small World, After All: Race, Multiculturalism, and Superheroes." McGowan Room, Benvevino Library
Description: Dr. Austin (History & Government) and Dr. Hamilton (English) will be discussing how superhero comics in the late twentieth century--the era of multiculturalism--from DC and Marvel have reflected and promoted very mixed attitudes about race in the United States.

"Reforming the Church: Why Pope Francis Matters," Henry Lounge
Description: Dr. Curran (Religious Studies) will bring forth an interactive and entertaining discussion and presentation on the current state of the church in the world today. Don't miss out on this enlightening presentation!

Sunday, September 18th

12:30pm Women’s Golf vs. Wilkes, Dallas

12:30pm-4pm SOAR Fun-Day, Frances Slocum State Park (inner loop boat dock)

Open Paddling- 1-4PM @ Frances Slocum state park- Enjoy an afternoon of canoes and kayaks at Misericordia’s local state park, only 15 minutes away! Bring a waterbottle and we’ll get you set up with a life jacket, paddle and boat for an afternoon of fun! Meet at the Boat Launch inside the park!

Larch Tree Hike- 1:30PM @ France Slocum state park-Join SOAR for an afternoon hike at Frances Slocum as we travel and explore the woods that is as majestic as a Lord of the Rings movie! Don’t miss out on this beauty! Only 3 miles, meet at the Boat Launch inside the park!
