Students Today, Alumni Forever (STAF) is a student-run philanthropy organization at Misericordia University.

STAF is the forerunner of philanthropy based actions, and it is divided into two sub-categories: class-based projects or student organization projects (ie. athletic teams, affinity groups, based on majors, etc.). STAF is required to set a monetary/participation goal each year with development and student leaders. Partnerships of staff, faculty and students may also be formed (ie. managed by students and advised by staff).

Mission and Goals of STAF

PURPOSE
Our purpose is to educate, engage and excite current Misericordia students about the concept of philanthropy.

EDUCATE
To educate Misericordia students, beginning their first year- the spirit of philanthropy is a tradition at Misericordia University. We educate students about the impact of gifts and volunteering across campus. Every gift- no matter the size positively impacts education, opportunities, and campus life.

ENGAGE
To engage students in a meaningful way by building pride in Misericordia and cultivating a culture of philanthropy that empowers them to serve as philanthropic leaders and advocates for the university.

EXCITE
To excite students about becoming Alumni Forever so that they continue to strengthen their connection with their Misericordia family.

STAF is a resource for any group who is interested in living the culture of philanthropy by providing presentations focusing on philanthropy from fellow students and/or faculty, social media networking, publications of any kind, and networking with alumni or professional staff at Misericordia University.

Cougar Challenge

Imagine what your lives would be like without Misericordia! You’re creating friends, memories, gaining knowledge and having amazing experiences! These incredible experiences empower and provide you with a broader perspective of the world beyond the ‘arch’, your home during your academic years.

Each year, Cougars participate in a long-established philanthropic tradition, this is your opportunity to shape this legacy while establishing your own. Look around you: the campus has been made better, and like you, has grown from the generosity of others and their philanthropic support.

TOGETHER, we can change lives and impact the Future of Misericordia!

Suggested Philanthropic Amounts by Class Year

Through this challenge, you can double the impact of your gift! Every gift counts- Dr. and Mrs. Botzman are committed to creating a culture of philanthropy on campus and beyond. Dr. and Mrs. Botzman will match class contributions in their totality according to the following schedule:

Dollar for dollar EVERY ‘individual’ class gift made up to $1,000;

For a gift that pushes the ‘individual’ class gift total over $1,000, they will ADD another $500;

If 20% of the class makes a gift, they’ll ADD another $500.
