If you're admitted to Misericordia, you'll participate in a fun-filled orientation the summer before you enroll. We'll get to know you, and you'll get to know Misericordia!
We'd be happy to have you as part of our family, and look forward to making the transition from high school to college a smooth one.
The Summer 2017 Orientation single-day dates are the following:
- June 29th
- June 30th
- July 20th
- July 21st
- July 22nd
For first year students who have paid their reservation deposit for the Fall 2017 semester, you will need to choose your orientation date, download health forms, access housing information and provide input on your first-year schedule on the student portal. |Dani Clifford is serving her first year as an Orientation Coordinator. She is a Sophomore Statistics and Sports Management double major from Middletown, New York. Dani is a student in the honors program on campus, a member of the softball team and is Vice President of her class. She is also assistant to the President of the philanthropic organization, Students Today, Alumni Forever and co-president of the Sports Management Association. This summer along with being an orientation coordinator, Dani interns with the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Rail Riders.|
|Mike Gombita is serving his final year as an Orientation Coordinator.|
He is a senior communications major with a minor in marketing from Equinunk, Pennsylvania. Mike has been involved with student media like the radio station, newspaper, graphic design club, and television station holding many leadership positions in his college career. Outside of student media, he has held many leadership positions as well. Mike will have a huge role in his final college semester serving as an intern for Student Activities at Misericordia. Mike will serve his final term as President of the philanthropic organization, Students Today, Alumni Forever and as marketing chair for Autism Speaks U. Mike has had some air-time on television of his own as a video of his appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres's show in her segment, "Epic or Fail?” Mike has also had the honor of playing with the world famous Harlem Globetrotters in a contest he won for their 90 year anniversary.
|Bailee Hymers is a senior occupational therapy major from East Meredith, New York. This year will be her second time as an orientation coordinator, after having been an orientation leader her sophomore year. Bailee is involved on campus with MSOTA, Campus Ministry, HOPE and OTI. She has also been a Search Retreat team leader for the past two years. In the past, Bailee has worked as a mentor to individuals with special needs, but currently she works in the student activities office and as a dietary aide at the Mercy Center nursing home. In her free time, Bailee enjoys volunteering and serving others. Within the past year she has gone on service trips to New York, Texas, Guyana and Jamaica.|
|Alec Rodway is a junior at Misericordia University from Peckville, PA. He studies a dual major of mathematics and statistics. This is Alec's second year as an orientation coordinator. He is a 2 year member and starter for the Men's Varsity Basketball team and is a first time Resident Assistant in Mchale Hall for the 2017-2018 school year.|

Join SOAR on an adventure unlike any other! Before Orientation, we are offering three options for outdoor adventures led by our trained student leaders! Join us Sunday, July 30th thru Wednesday, August 2nd to get a Misericordia adventure in, meet new students, and meet some upper class students!
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! All Levels welcome! As with all of SOAR adventures, all of our programs are open to participants of every level from no experience to very experienced.
We are offering three such adventures this year, The dates of the adventures are SUNDAY JULY 30TH - WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 2ND!
The three adventure options:
- Pinchot Trail: Backpack 23 miles of the Pennsylvanian woods and learn some essential woodsy skills! Jump in a water hole to cool down and get psyched for some trailside yoga! Best.Backpacking.Adventure.Ever!
- Delaware Paddle: Canoe down 45 miles of the Delaware River and see the Gap up close! Camp on river islands, see some bald eagles, and hop in the river to cool down! Get psyched!
- PA Rock Climbing: Join us and head rock climbing locally here around Misericordia! We hit local crags, go over basics of rock climbing, and get a day of bouldering in as well! Featuring a camp out at Rickets Glen state park (with a dunk at the lake), what could be better?!
