There are several ways to enter McAuley, but my favorite is the Arcade, a glass-enclosed walkway, which connects it to Mercy Hall. It's one of the nicest places on campus and very convenient on the occasional rainy or snowy days we get here.

The first floor of McAuley is occupied by the Insalaco Center for Career Development. The Insalaco Center is comprehensive, with programming and services designed to assist students and alumni in developing successful careers. The staff really encourages us to begin working with them in our freshman year, which allows us time to consider our goals and build the foundation for life after college. Career exploration, the CHOICE Program for undeclared students, internships, study abroad advising, graduate/professional school advising, and job search preparation are all services provided through the center.

Television Studio Control RoomThe Insalaco Center is probably most known for the Guaranteed Placement Program - open to all full-time freshmen entering the college, as well as a unique Student Leadership Transcript, which captures students' accomplishments outside the classroom.

Another important office that is integral to the Misericordia University experience is the Service Leadership Center. The Service Leadership Center works directly with faculty and academic departments to incorporate service projects into academic coursework. Service to others has always been a big part of life at MU and is now directly tied to study in the classroom.

The second and third floors of this building, which was formerly a residence hall, have now been converted to offices for the Health Science and Behavioral Science Division faculty. As an MI major, I'm often upstairs checking in with my professors.

One of the best parts of McAuley Hall, which is sometimes referred to as McAuley-Walsh, is Walsh Auditorium. This classic 650-seat auditorium is often alive with musical and theatrical performances, including two plays a year by the Misericordia players.

Downstairs is the Munson Center for Technology. Divided into two levels, the upper floor contains a video conferencing classroom, an adaptive technology lab, a networking lab and the temporary home for our Assistive Technology Research Institute.

The lower level, completed in the Summer of 2001, has two classrooms, a fully digital television studio, two digital audio production rooms, a non-linear video editing room and a linear video editing room. These rooms support the Communications, Education, Occupational Therapy and Business departments. Immediately behind McAuley is the MacDonald Art Gallery, which frequently hosts exhibits and performances by professionals and students.
