First-time, full-time undergraduate students receive financial aid in the form of grants and scholarships
The Guaranteed Placement Program (or GPP) is a career development program designed to supplement a student's formal education.
Our Guarantee states that if any student, who fully participates in our program for all four years of their college experience, does not receive a job offer or is not accepted into graduate/professional school within six months of graduation, the University provides that student a paid internship* in their chosen field.
Misericordia's ARCH Programs for Adult Learners are designed for the nontraditional student. Students can choose from night, day and weekend schedules, all intended to mesh with work and family obligations. Flexible format options such as part-time, accelerated and online are available at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
The Bridge Program provides incoming first year students with an opportunity to come on campus five days before their first semester begins to learn skills and techniques to help them build a "bridge" between their high school and college experiences. The Bridge Program provides both academic and personal motivational support through a series of workshops that address note-taking, academic organizing, time management, text book reading, goal development, stress management, peer pressure, and positive thinking.
The Women with Children Program (WWC) at Misericordia University is one of only eight programs in the United States. The Program empowers economically disadvantaged single mothers by providing the opportunity to complete a college degree, creating brighter futures for themselves and for their children.
Students who have yet to declare a major also get specialized advising from academic advisors trained to assist students in examining a wide range of curricula.
The Choice Program is a collaborative effort between the Student Success Center and the Insalaco Center for Career Development. Alumni and faculty participate in the program, providing insight into their careers and industry to students considering those fields. Job shadowing opportunities are also available.
The Misericordia University Student Success Center (SSC) enhances learning through our collaborative, compassionate, and personalized approach. We seek to empower students through the development of academic and social skills, connection to resources, and the encouragement of self-efficacy. As campus liaisons, we strive to create an environment that welcomes all, and to develop relationships that promote student persistence and success.
The Insalaco Center for Career Development is a comprehensive career center that will assist the students and alumni of Misericordia University to assess, develop, and implement goals for the constantly evolving professional world. The Insalaco Center will foster a cooperative process in which students, alumni, faculty, staff, employers, and community organizations transform educational achievements into a lifetime of career satisfaction.
Leaving the Misericordia campus to study abroad leads to a great variety of experiences that will help you grow personally, academically and in the end, professionally. Students will tell you that studying abroad allowed them to develop a clearer understanding of the world around them, develop a greater appreciation of social, cultural, and political differences, develop a greater sense of independence and confidence, and the ability to adapt to different environments more easily.
