Monday January, 16th

McAuley Market Drive -- All Week Long**  

Donations can be dropped off at the Banks Student Life Center, Rooms 112 & 115 

8:30AM-4:30PM (Open to Public) 

Items Needed: Microwave ready meals (the biggest need), snacks, lotion, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant (men’s and women’s), Gatorade 

Tuesday January 17th

Community March/MLK Week Kickoff (Open to Public) 

Join the MU Community for the Martin Luther King Jr. Community March and MLK Week Kickoff Ceremony. The march will start at Anderson Sports and Health Center, and we will walk to Lemmond Theater to hold a ceremony as the official Kickoff of MLK Week

March starts at 5:30pm; Ceremony to follow 

Wednesday, January 18th

Honorary MLK Basketball Game (Open to Public) 

Join the Diversity in Athletics Committee, Men’s Basketball, and the Cheer team as we host our honorary MLK Game in supporting the togetherness of our campus community and our athletic teams. 

Game starts at 6pm; Location: Anderson Center 

 

Thursday, January 19th

Dinner and Movie Screening (Till, 2020) 

Screening starts at 7pm (Lemmond Theater -- Open to Public) 

The true story of Mamie Till-Mobley, an educator and activist, who pursued justice after the murder of her 14-year-old son Emmett in 1955.  

We are inviting the MU Community to join us for a nice dinner by enjoying Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s favorite meal.  

MUST BE REGISTERED TO ATTEND DINNER -- LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE

Keynote Address: Speaker -- Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz 

Speech at 12:30pm in Lemmond Theater (Open to Public) 

The keynote will serve as a reflection moment on how she is preserving the legacy of her parents, Malcolm X & Dr. Betty Shabazz, and how she has dedicated herself to institution building and intergenerational leadership development with the tenants of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
