Monday January, 15th - Martin Luther King Jr. Day

McAuley Market Drive -- All Week Long  (Open to Public) 
  • Donations can be dropped off at the Banks Student Life Center, Rooms 112 & 115 8:30am - 4:30pm

Peanut butter; Canned chicken; Sports drinks; Cereal; EZ Mac; Hot cocoa; Toothpaste; Shaving cream; Women's deodorant; Women's razors; Conditioner; Laundry detergent pods; Sponges (individually wrapped); Toilet paper (individually wrapped); Lotion 


BLANKETS & BROTH – MLK DAY OF SERVICE (MU Community Only)

  • 9:30am - 12:30pm
  • Location: Friedman Jewish Center (613 S J Strauss Lane, Kingston PA)


Volunteers will be assembling blankets to be donated to Ruth's Place, Keystone Mission, and Sara's Table. Cans of soup/broth will also be collected for those in need. Students can sign up to volunteer via presence; Faculty/Staff can reach out to David Baloga at dbaloga@misericordia.edu to RSVP.

MISSION ORIENTATION – JUSTICE (MU Community Only)

The ongoing Mission Orientations examine the four charisms of the Sisters of Mercy: Mercy, Service, Justice, and Hospitality. Members of our faculty, staff, and students will illustrate lived experiences of our mission in motion across campus and beyond

MLK WEEK KICKOFF CEREMONY (Open to Public)

Location: Lemmond Theater Ceremony starts at 6:00 pm

Hot Chocolate and Cookies to be served afterwards.
Join the MU Community for the 2024 Martin Luther King Jr. Week Kickoff Ceremony as we prepare to celebrate a great week of fellowship and unity. After the ceremony, join us to connect with other members of the community with hot chocolate and cookies!

Wednesday, January 17th

HONORARY MLK BASKETBALL GAME (Open to Public)

Location: Anderson Center 
Game starts at 7:00 pm

Join the Diversity in Athletics Committee and the Women’s Basketball team as we host our honorary MLK Game in supporting the unity of our campus community and our athletic teams.

MLK WEEK FINALE CELEBRATION (MU Community Only)



Location: Archie’s (Henry Student Lounge) | 4 - 7pm

Join us as we celebrate the unity of community during the final day of the 2024 MLK Week. Enjoy food, music, games, and more as we prepare for Black History Month!
