Dear Web Visitor:

On behalf of our entire campus community, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the Misericordia University web site. I hope you will spend time online, and in person, getting to know more about our amazing campus, students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Misericordia University is alive with activity, innovation, and progress. In the past three years, we've introduced new academic programs including certified financial planning, data science, entrepreneurship, public health, supply chain management, general science for teachers, criminology, radiation therapy and graduate degrees in acute care nursing and education professional practice. We've reinvigorated our music performance offerings, expanded our Honors Program, and engaged in a national effort to support first-generation college students. 

We expect to open our new LEAP Center (learning, education, and performance) to be a home for our exercise science program in fall of 2026. A new athletic dome opened in 2024 as well as a multi-million dollar project for renovated space for our occupational therapy and physical therapy programs. Intercollegiate NCAA men's ice hockey as well as STUNT and men's and women's wrestling are all just a few seasons into their history here at MU and among our newest sports.

That said, we are not just looking back at our recent accomplishments and those over our 102-year history, we are looking to the future with optimism guided by our Mercy Transforms strategic plan.  In fact, we completed our last strategic plan, Mercy Thrives, a year early. We expect the largest first-year class in our history to join us this fall. Why were we so successful?

Misericordia University offers a highly personal experience. Our students learn how to confront challenges and persist in their education.  One of the attributes that attracted me to Misericordia is our exceptional record of student retention and graduation rates.  Students thrive and succeed at Misericordia—we are exceptionally proud of that record and of all the effort that makes it happen.  We are a true community, a community realized, that supports and challenges everyone to be their best.

I am privileged to be a part of this new era on campus and witness students enjoy the transformative power of education. We are serving traditional and non-traditional students to enable them to meet the workplace challenges of the future and be prepared for a fulfilling life.
