Meet Jasmine Talbot '26, an English major pursuing a Professional Writing and Rhetoric track. Jasmine is interning this fall with MU's Marketing & PR Department, redesigning websites, writing MU News articles, and working on Moments magazine. Jasmine is doing such a great job that she'll be returning to the department for the spring semester to continue with these and other projects.

Francesca is enjoying an amazing opportunity to intern with the Russin Law Firm, where she's gained incredible hands-on experience in wills and estates. Francesca says one of the best parts of her internship has been diving into the tax side of estate law. She's incredibly grateful to Attorney Alex Russin for his mentorship and for taking the time to share his expertise after she expressed her passion for tax law.

Meet Bennett McNamara '26, a Government, Law, & National Security major interning with the law firm of Rosenn, Jenkins & Greenwald. Here Bennett is applying his research and technical skills while gaining valuable insight into the legal field. This experience will no doubt help Bennett as he pursues law school after graduation. In addition to his extracurricular activities, Bennett was the lead author of "Sign Stealing Doesn't Just Happen in Football and Baseball," which was published in Sports Litigation Alert (Vol. 21 Iss. 8), and did his Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) project on "Inequity and Antitrust: Implications of NBA Trades on the Collective Bargaining Agreement."

Meet Kurtis Kowalski '26, a Mass Communications and Design major interning with the Cross Creek Community Church. Kurtis has been busy revamping and redesigning the church's website, managing its podcast page, and overseeing its social media platforms. He also served on the stage crew for the church's biggest outreach event of the summer-Vacation Bible School!

Meet Owen Blake '26, a senior majoring in English with the Professional Writing and Rhetoric Track. Owen is putting his talents to work in an internship with MU's Marketing and PR Department. He's busy working on feature stories for Moments magazine and writing articles about the important work of our SURF fellows and their mentors. He's also written multiple articles for MU News and is responsible for capturing photos at the many events on campus this summer.

Meet Antonio Ferraro '26, a History major with a Public History & Museum Studies Specialization and a Theatre minor. Antonio is interning this summer at Eckley Miners' Village. His curatorial duties include cataloguing, inventorying, and cleaning artifacts. He's also helping prepare artifacts and spaces like

150- year-old houses for public view. On campus, Antonio is the Student Technical Director for the MU Players. He also works in the Writing Center and serves as a Peer Advocate and Peer Tutor.

Meet Francesca Glaude '26, a Government, Law, & National Security major who completed a spring internship with the Luzerne County Domestic Violence Center.

Here, Francesca worked closely with the Civil Legal Representation Program, assisting attorneys and paralegals who provide a variety of services to their clients. Francesca gives special thanks to her internship supervisor, Tammy Rodgers, for her guidance and support and for the opportunity to contribute to such an important cause while gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Meet Jacob Tash '26, a Government, Law, & National Security major with plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Jacob is gaining valuable experience interning with MU's Campus Safety Department under the supervision of our officers, many of whom are retired law enforcement. Jacob also serves as a Student Film Coordinator and Coach for MU's Football Program and has volunteered with noble organizations like Wreaths Across America and Blue Chip Animal Farm.

Meet Joshua Colon '25, a Government, Law, and National Security major interning with the Dallas Township Police Department. Joshua is enjoying the experience and appreciates everything he's learning from the officers. He adds that this internship has inspired him even more to pursue a career in law enforcement. In addition to his studies and the internship, Joshua finds time to serve as Student Assistant Basketball Coach for MU's Men's Basketball Team.

With plans to attend law school, Richard is interning this semester with the law firm of Rosenn, Jenkins & Greenwald, LLP. Richard also serves as the Admistrative Coordinator for the Student Government Association (SGA) and is a member of the Black Student Union. In addition, he's on MU's Men's Soccer and Track & Field teams. Congratulations to Richard for also recently being named Wendy's Athlete of the Month!

Meet Anna Cholakis '25, '28, a Medical & Health Humanities major, who is on track for MU's Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Anna is interning with Parenting Autism United, which supports parents and caregivers of children with Autism, and individuals with Autism. Anna lives the charism of service in many ways and is actively involved with MU's Mission, Ministry, and Service Office. She's also a member of MU's Women's Basketball Team. Our thanks to Anna and PAU's Lindsay Dragon for the recent children's book donation to MU's Women with Children Program!

Meet Maura Jenceleski '27, a History major with a Media specialization. Maura is interning with MU's Marketing and PR

Department where she shoots and edits videos, takes photos, and writes. She's the Editor in Chief of The Highlander and serves as a Peer Tutor, Disability Advocate for the SGA, and Social Media Coordinator for the GSA. She's also an Admissions Ambassador for MU.

Maura manages to do all this while maintaining a perfect 4.0 GPA! Way to go, Maura!

Meet Sean O'Doherty '24, a Government, Law, & National Security major at MU. Sean says his internship with the Wilkes-Barre Police Department has been a truly amazing experience. From desk work to ride-alongs, he has seen first-hand what a tough, yet honorable, career it is. Sean looks forward to serving and protecting his community and thanks the W-B PD and MU for this opportunity.

Sean sums it up best by saying, "Thanks to this internship, there is no doubt in my mind that this is my future."

With plans for law school, Anthony is interning at the Russin Law Office, focusing on estate law. Anthony also works as career peer in the Insalaco Center for Professional Development & Leadership and is the assistant coach for Holy Redeemer High School Boys' Lacrosse Team. All this and an impressive 3.88 cumulative GPA!

Richard will also serve as the Student Government Association's Administrative Coordinator for the upcoming 24/25 academic year.

Meet Kenna Mensinger '24 '27. Kenna majors in Medical & Health Humanities and is on track for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. Her internship with Verve Vertu has Kenna working with some very talented artists. She's on the Physical Therapy Club, works with MU's Mission, Ministry, and Service Office as a student leader for the food insecurity program, and is treasurer for the class of 2025.

Meet Luke Ferrarese '24, a Mathematics major interning with Northeast Sight Services' finance department with some help from his canine colleague, Timothy!

Luke plans to attend graduate school for engineering. He played his last season on MU's soccer team this past fall. He's a member of the Mathematics and Investors Clubs, and serves as treasurer for the Student Government Association (SGA). Luke's also a student representative on MU's Board of Trustees Finance Committee.

Madeline is interning with MU's Sr. Pat Lapczynski, where she's learning to present IT information in a more inclusive way that everyone can understand. She's also helping Sr. Pat show educators how virtual reality can be used in the classroom.

My name is Sarah Suchocki. I am a senior Social Work student, graduating in Spring ’24, with a special interest in Forensic Social Work. I am currently completing my third and final semester interning at the Luzerne County Public Defender’s Office. My internship experience has been extremely beneficial to my future work as a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) professional and has opened my eyes to the importance of advocating for individuals involved in the criminal justice system. I am currently completing a research project on the ineffectiveness of substance use treatment furloughs and the negative impact placed on individuals who must return to jail following the completion of substance use treatment. I am passionate about advocating for individuals involved in the criminal justice system along with reducing recidivism. My goal is to work within the prison system providing support and reentry services to inmates and go on to complete my master’s degree in Social Work (MSW).

He helped organize the Dallas Township's National Night Out event. He’s also a member of the GLNS Club and after graduation, Bryce plans to attend the Pennsylvania State Police Academy to become a Trooper.

Congratulations to Carli Tabone ‘25, named Intern of the Year at the Greater Wyoming Valley Chamber of Commerce’s 8th Annual Young Professionals Awards ceremony. Carli is an Environmental Studies major with a minor in Biology. She’s been interning with the Pennsylvania Environmental Council (PEC) since her sophomore year. Carli has worked in the field on trail counter maintenance and in the PEC office. She wrote a grant proposal and received funding for a Tool Lending Library for the PEC and their Trail Affiliates.

Francesca promoted health and wellness to the community every Thursday at the Farmer's Market on Public Square in downtown Wilkes-Barre. Francesca is also a talented singer, performing at university events like commencement and President Myers' inauguration.

Matt's creative skills are on full display as he writes and edits captivating stories for every game, as well as fascinating team-related side and feature stories. His contributions also include co-creating the exciting "Parking Lot Preview" YouTube series, a must-watch pregame show recorded and posted before each thrilling game.

She's also a member of MU's Physical Therapy Club and volunteers for various causes in the community.

Meet Eleanor “Ellie” Pitcher ’24, a Medical & Health Humanities major with minors in Chemistry and Professional Writing. Ellie is interning with the Wilkes-Barre Health Department where she helps to involve the community in preventative medicine. Ellie plans to get her master’s in Public Health and go on to medical school. She’s currently a member of the Dead Alchemist Society and the American Medical Student Association (AMSA) on campus.

Tia recently joined her colleagues for the center's inaugural fundraising gala which raised an incredible $200,000 to help those affected by cancer. In addition to the work she does with the center, Tia is also involved at MU as a Peer Advocate, Active Minds Club President, and Dance Team Secretary.
