Misericordia University to Honor Dr. Mary McAleese, Former President of Ireland, at Winter 2024 Commencement

Misericordia University announced today that Dr. Mary McAleese, former president of Ireland and a renowned advocate for peace and social justice, will be the commencement honoree and guest speaker at the university's Winter Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, December 15, 2024. McAleese will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters Degree during the ceremony.

Misericordia University’s 100th Anniversary Celebrated at Centennial Trustee Associates Gala

President Emeritus Michael MacDowell, Tina MacDowell, trustee emeritus Sandy Insalaco Sr., alumna Virginia Donlin Emershaw ‘62, and the Sisters of Mercy were the special honorees as Misericordia University celebrated its 100th anniversary at the Centennial Trustee Associates Gala held at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre.

 Global Impact: Misericordia Professor’s Geriatric Rehabilitation Guide Translated into Chinese

This book published in late 2023 in Chinese, under the direction of Misericordia’s own Dr. Michael Moran and the other co-editors, along with several contributors from Misericordia University, is now the principle geriatric rehabilitation text in China and will affect care for over 280 million persons over the age of 60 years in China.
