Meet Gavin! 

I grew up not too far from Misericordia, in Exeter, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Wyoming Area Senior High School in 2020. I chose to attend Misericordia to pursue a degree in Psychology and play soccer, earning my Bachelor’s in Psychology in 2023.

At Misericordia, I work with students across Pennsylvania—every county except our local ones (Luzerne, Lackawanna, Monroe, Northampton, and Lehigh) and the Philadelphia area. What I enjoy most about my role is getting to know new families and prospective students on a deeper level, hearing about their goals and dreams, and seeing those same students achieve them.

I’m a huge sports fan—my favorite teams are all over the map: the Tennessee Titans (NFL), New York Yankees (MLB), Michigan State Spartans (CFB), and Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL). In my free time, I also love to fish.

My favorite campus tradition is Welcome Week. There’s a special buzz around campus that you just don’t get over the summer.

My biggest piece of advice for incoming students is to be okay with being uncomfortable. It’s perfectly fine not to know exactly what you want to do right away or even to change your major later on. I often share my story of realizing late in the process that physical therapy wasn’t the right fit for me—and making that change led me to where I’m happiest today.

Misericordia is such a special place. Having been both a student and now a staff member, I can say that what truly sets it apart is the people. Professors get to know the real you—you’re never just another face in the crowd.
