Business Administration
The Business Administration Major permits students to freely fashion their study to meet their professional and personal needs. The curriculum contains sufficient flexibility to meet most needs and expectations of the students, both those who intend to go on to graduate school and those who see immediate entrance into the profession.
Students who major in business administration choose to focus on a specific area of business. The business administration major allows students to choose a specialization sequence in areas such as management, marketing, health care management, sport management or management information systems.

You can earn your Bachelor of Science in as little as 2 1/2 years by attending classes part-time. The convenient and predictable schedule allows you take classes either once a week or online up to 12 credits per semester. Courses are offered face-to-face in 5-week sessions at Luzerne County Community College on the Nanticoke Campus, or online in 7 1/2 week sessions.

The accounting minor provides a strong analytical base for almost any major. With the increased concentration in accounting computerized systems, computer science majors will find this minor attractive.
The minor in applied economics will provide the student with a foundation of methods for analyzing the markets, institutions and actors that drive the economy. This foundation includes developing expertise in quantitative methods, ethics, and institutional or historical analysis. The minor is open to all majors that are not administered by the Business program.
The minor in forensic accounting provides the student with a foundation in the methods employed by accountants, auditors, and managers in preventing and detecting fraud and deception in business entities, not-for-profit organizations, and governmental agencies. This minor is open to all majors.
This minor is intended for those outside of the business major who have an interest in healthcare management. The minor is 18 credits.
An understanding of management styles and techniques can benefit anyone who will be involved in organizational life. Opportunities and advancement in one’s chosen field often will be enhanced by documented study of the skills required for success. This minor is well suited to individuals in any area of endeavor.
An understanding of marketing can benefit any individual who will be involved in promotion for private, public, profit, or not-for-profit organizations. Opportunities in the field of marketing are broadening every year, and this minor is well suited to students in any area of interest.

The MBA 5th-Year program is for eligible rising Misericordia University seniors who wish to begin their graduate business studies as an undergraduate student. Accepted students will take up to 12 MBA credits within their current program. An applicant may be required to complete leveling courses in business functional areas through Peregrine. The graduate admissions committee will determine if the leveling courses will be taken concurrently with MBA courses or completed prior to starting the MBA program.
