Job Coach Direct Care Staff ALL Program - Part Time
The primary purpose of the Job Coach/Direct Care Staff is to direct, supervise and instruct participants in the Autism for Lifelong Learning Program in tasks and programmatic activities that are outlined in the Individual Support Plan. Documentation as required by the program. This is a Part Time, 12-Month, Non-Exempt role.
Custodian: 2nd Shift
Misericordia University is seeking a Custodian for 2nd shift: Monday through Friday 3PM – 11:30PM. The primary purpose of this position is to perform custodial duties, minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that buildings and facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The Custodian will assist with the setup of facilities, meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc. In addition, this position helps with snow removal on campus grounds. Flexibility to accommodate evening/weekend hours and/or on-call/overtime schedules is preferred.
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Three to six months related experience and/or training is necessary. Prior housekeeping experience preferred.

Campus Safety Officer
Misericordia University is seeking a Campus Safety Officer. Under the general supervision of a Campus Safety Supervisor, this position is a member of a team of officers responsible for providing personal safety for members of the university community through a courteous, helpful and professional manner. This position provides a highly visual deterrent to campus crime while protecting the property and assets of the university.
A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. The successful candidate should have two (2) years security work experience and/or physical security and protection of assets training; emergency services experience including fire and rescue; military and/or law enforcement experience; experience using radio communications equipment. A valid PA driver’s license and the completion of the university safe driver program with van certification within 30 days of hire is required. Act 34 clearance, law enforcement certification (ex. Act 120), and Act 235, or equivalent job related certification, or the ability to complete certification within 90 days from hire are necessary. CPR and First Aid Certification (or recertification provided after hire) required.

College Retention Liaison
Misericordia University is seeking a Full-Time College Retention Liaison. The College Retention Liaison will support and continue retention efforts by collaboration with the College of Health and Science Education students, staff and faculty. This position will support intervention programming to include Early Alert, Program Probations and Dismissals, at-risk students and undeclared advising.
A Master’s Degree in Higher Education, Psychology or related field is preferred; Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education, Psychology or related field is required with a minimum 3 years of experience in collegiate environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Qualified candidates will have knowledge working with at risk students to encourage academic growth and support. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required in order to effectively communicate and work with multiple constituents to include students, staff and faculty.

HVAC Mechanic
Misericordia University is seeking a HVAC Mechanic. The position will provide the expertise and working knowledge required to operate and maintain the commercial campus HVAC systems to ensure a suitable living, learning, and working environment in all University facilities. Under direct supervision, this position will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment necessary for each building’s operation.
The HVAC Mechanic will assist with water treatment of domestic, boiler, and closed loop systems when necessary and confer with customers as necessary in performing assigned responsibilities. This position will also help with snow removal on campus grounds to include shoveling snow from walks and driveways, using chemical ice melters, shovels, ice scrapers, etc., and spreading de-icing on passage ways to prevent ice buildup.
Flexible hours are necessary to accommodate needs, with on-call procedure, evenings, and weekends as needed.
An Associate's degree/Vocational Diploma in HVAC Technology from an industry leader such as Trane, Carrier, York (minimum 500 hours), is required. The successful candidate will have five years of related experience and/or training in a mechanical or electrical trade, plus a minimum of seven years of experience in HVAC maintenance and related equipment.
Experience in chiller maintenance/cooling towers up to 500-ton units (screw, centrifugal, and reciprocating types) preferred and a minimum of two years’ experience working with Siemens and Tritium Building Automation Control Systems is preferred. A current and valid PA driver’s license and Universal EPA Refrigerant Handling certification is needed.

Assistant Football Coach (Seasonal)
Misericordia University is seeking a Part-Time Assistant Football Coach. The Assistant Coach will support and offer assistance to the head coach in all facets of the sports program, including the recruitment of quality student-athletes, retention of student-athletes, organization and planning of all practices, meet preparation, administrative tasks, etc. Assist to resolve game management and/or set-up issues for home events. Assist with game management set-up and site supervision.
A Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university is required. Prior playing or coaching experience at the college, university, or professional level is necessary. The successful candidate will have demonstrated athletic leadership experience, and strong administrative, managerial, and interpersonal skills. This position will require evening and weekend hours to include team travel. Director of Campus Safety & Security
The Director of Campus Safety will provide the overall leadership and strategic direction for the University’s safety and security. This position will develop and modify services and procedures to meet legal, regulatory, and university needs.
This position is additionally designated as a Title IX Officer and a Critical Response Officer (CRO). A CRO is a member of the Campus Safety Department who in addition to performing the standard duties, is also authorized to carry firearms on duty, and to use his/her authorized firearm in accordance with the policies set forth in the Standard Operating Procedures of the Campus Safety Department and any other policies established by the University.
REQUIREMENTS: (Equivalent combinations of education, licenses, certifications and/or experience may be considered)
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- Law Enforcement Training Academy graduate: Act 120 (PA Municipal Police Officers Training Academy) or other state equivalent municipal police training, PA State Police Training Academy or other state equivalent police training, Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.
- Career law enforcement officer eligible to be certified under HR 218 (Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act).
Experience
- Law enforcement experience required; Military, Security and experience with radio communications equipment preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of progressive related experience and/or training.
- Prior supervisory and investigation experience is necessary.
- Training or experience in handling intoxicated individuals and investigation of crimes related to sexual assault.
- Prior experience in criminal justice procedures, the legal system, and court proceedings is preferred.

Graduate Assistant: Library Services
Misericordia University is accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant in our library's Access Services department.
The position includes performing functions at the Circulation Desk including checking in/out materials, posting holds, renewals, and fines via the integrated library system, assisting library staff as needed, assisting patrons in searching the library catalog, communicating library policy in a courteous manner, and answering instructional and directional questions. This person should have the capacity to handle difficult customer situations in a mature and confident manner with a firm commitment to our Mercy values and charisms.
This person will be responsible for periodically opening and closing the library, recording appropriate statistical information, accounting for monies collected, assisting with stack maintenance as needed and have a working knowledge of Word and Excel. Flexibility is desired with weekend and night shifts required.
