Lemmond Theater
Scott Colin Woolnough (Program Director of Theatre) currently serves as the Artistic Director for the Little Theatre of Wilkes-Barre and has 43 years’ experience with theatre at all levels, performing in professional and amateur productions across the US and in three foreign countries. Major theatrical credits include Huck Finn in a national tour of Tom Sawyer, and Rosencrantz in the off-Broadway production of Hamlet-Heart of my Mystery. Originally from Huntsville, AL, Scott has lived all over the US calling such cities as San Diego, CA, Yokosuka, Japan, and Tallahassee, FL home. He lived in NYC for 12 years before settling in NEPA in 2007. Since moving to the area, he has performed leading roles in most of the major area theaters (LTWB, Music Box, PTPA, The Grove, Act Out, Gaslight, Shawnee, The Sherman, EMTC, Diva, TACT and Misericordia University) He is an award-winning director, actor, and producer, and is the current sitting president of the Northeast Pennsylvania Theatrical Alliance. In addition to his theatrical responsibilities at Misericordia, Scott also works as a disability services coordinator in the Office for Students with Disabilities and has since 2009. A proud veteran of the United States armed forces (USN 1989-1993; USNR 1999-2003), Scott served in Operation Desert Storm, and performed two tours in Bahrain and its surrounding area supporting Operation Desert Freedom. He now lives in Wilkes-Barre with his wife Jessica, his son Colin, and their beagle, Namath.
Welcome to Lemmond Theater!
Lemmond Theater is the site for many University guest speakers, performances, and other productions organized by the Misericordia Players theater group or Student Activities for the annual Homecoming Talent Show. This classic 650-seat auditorium is often alive with musical and theatrical performances, including two plays a year by the Misericordia Players.
