Music Performance at Misericordia

Here is a great opportunity to not only create meaningful musical moments, but to connect with other students and build friendships while attending Misericordia University. 

Music Performance at Misericordia University offers instrumental and choral ensemble opportunities in a variety of styles, ranging from small group ensembles to larger ensembles. Participation is open to all university students as well as faculty, staff and administration. All enrolled MU students are eligible to participate in the university ensembles and can obtain Fine Arts credit if desired. Neither an audition nor enrollment fee is required to participate. We welcome anyone who loves music to come share your talents! 

  • Large ensembles include: MU Community Choir, Instrumental Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble
  • Smaller groups include: Rock/Pop/Blues Combo, String Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Keyboard Ensemble, Guitar Ensemble, World Percussion Ensemble and a Contemporary Vocal Ensemble in various formats
  • Solo, duo, trio, and quartet performance opportunities are available to members of the ensembles throughout the semester

Current and prospective Misericordia students interested in the Music Performance program should complete the below form to connect with the Music Performance Director and obtain additional information on the program.

High school juniors and seniors considering applying to Misericordia University are encouraged to contact Music Performance at MU in order to: visit a rehearsal, meet the faculty, attend a concert or masterclass/clinic and tour the campus. 

The Misericordia University Concert and Lecture Series presents performances by outstanding world renowned musicians representing a variety of musical genres, and closely coordinate programming with the instrumental and choral ensembles to offer special masterclasses, workshops and lectures by visiting artists creating unique opportunities for student musicians to hear, observe, interact and perform with a variety of professional musicians and artist-teachers. All performances are open to the public and take place in the Lemond Theater or Maslow ensemble room.
