Chris Somers D. Min, M.S.W
Director of Campus Ministry
Christine Somers has been at Misericordia since 2001 where she was the Associate Director of Campus Ministry. In 2008 she became the Director of Campus Ministry. Chris' background is both in social work experience and full time ministry experience. She has coordinated and directed all the international service trips to Peru, Guyana and Jamaica, as well as Spring break service trips here on campus. She has a bachelor and masters degree in social work from Marywood University and a Doctorate in Ministry from Graduate Theological Foundation. She also is an adjunct professor in the religious studies department and has taught courses in the social work department.
Lindsey Riddell, MS
Community Outreach Coordinator
Lindsey Riddell began as the Community Outreach Coordinator in 2015 and has served as an adjunct professor in the Psychology Department since 2012. A campus alumna, Lindsey earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Misericordia University in 2006, with certificates in addiction’s counseling and child welfare services. As an undergraduate student, she participated in service-learning trips to serve the underprivileged in Jamaica, and Guyana, South America. She also holds a master’s degree in secondary school counseling from the University of Scranton. Her experience includes working for the past several years in the human service fields in both Luzerne and Lackawanna counties. Lindsey spearheads outreach and service activities for groups, clubs, teams and individuals on campus, working with non-profits and social service organizations throughout the region.
Fr. Alex Roche, STL
Originally from Williamsport, PA, Fr. Alex has served as Chaplain at Misericordia since 2016. Currently Fr. Alex also serves as Chaplain at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre and Pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lake Silkworth. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from the College of William & Mary in Virginia in 2006. Shortly thereafter, Father Roche began his priestly formation by entering St. Charles Borromeo Seminary, where he pursued preparatory studies until 2008, when he was appointed to attend the Pontifical North American College in Rome, Italy. While a seminarian at the North American College, the Fr. Alex completed his studies for the priesthood, obtaining a degree in sacred theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. Later he would complete a licentiate in sacred theology (ecclesiology) from the Pontifical Lateran University, also in Rome. In his free time Fr. Alex likes to walk his dog, Apollo and also to watch the NY Giants beat up on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys.
