Parking for Commencement

North Gate Parking Lot

Congratulations to the Class of 2021! On May 15, we will honor our graduates during four separate ceremonies. Here are some very important instructions for parking on campus on Commencement day.

All traffic should enter through the historic entrance Arch from Lake Street. Please do not enter via the North Gate entrance as that will be used for exiting traffic.

After entering through the arch, continue straight towards Mercy Hall where Campus Safety officers will direct vehicle traffic on campus to the appropriate parking area. Each ceremony will be assigned a parking lot as listed below.

9 a.m. Ceremony – Enter via Arch, travel towards Mercy Hall. Designated parking will be available in the North Gate lot.

11 a.m. Ceremony – Enter via Arch, travel towards Mercy Hall. Designated parking will be available in the Mercy Hall lot.

1:30 p.m. Ceremony – Enter via Arch, travel towards Mercy Hall. Designated parking will be available in the North Gate lot.

3:30 p.m. Ceremony – Enter via Arch, travel towards Mercy Hall. Designated parking will be available in the Mercy Hall lot.

A limited number of handicapped spaces will be reserved near the Anderson Center. Campus Safety officers will direct cars with the appropriate placards and license plates to the handicapped spaces. Guests utilizing handicapped parking areas are advised to follow the same traffic patterns as described above.

As a courtesy to the next group of graduates, please depart campus no later than 30 minutes following the conclusion of your ceremony. This will alleviate congestion on pedestrian and automotive roadways as the new group arrives. Designate a meeting place with your family somewhere away from the main doors of the Anderson Center. Then, celebrate by taking a few photos and heading off campus for the next part of your special day. All vehicles must exit through the North Gate.
