Curriculum

A curriculum designed to develop leaders.

You’re not just after a degree — you want the expertise, knowledge, and experience that can put you in a position to make real change in your life and in the industry. Misericordia University’s online Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program is a practice-focused doctoral degree that equips advanced practice clinicians with the skills and knowledge to become leaders in organizational change and health policy.

As a catalyst for improved healthcare delivery in an inter-professional environment, the program is designed to combine theory, practice and inquiry to help foster the highest level of mastery to help you meet the nation’s and world’s increasingly complex healthcare needs.

Laura Lunger

“We give students the individualized attention they need to be successful — even in the online setting.”
       — Laura Lunger, MSN, CRNP, NP-c,                                          Assistant Professor

Our online DNP program is designed to accommodate the needs of busy healthcare professionals and in response to growing national demand for advanced practice nurses prepared at the doctoral level.

The online DNP curriculum features 27 credits* coursework structured around the AACN Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice. This includes 500 practice hours of experiential learning, which culminates in the completion of an evidence-based practice clinical capstone project.

If you choose to add a specialization in nursing education to your online DNP, you’ll complete a total of 36 credits and 500 practice hours with an additional 50 practicum hours.

* The BSN to DNP program curriculum includes additional credits toward degree completion
