FUNDAMENTALS OF PAINTING
SPRING 2023

Description:
Explore mark making, color theory, value, composition and paint application to create gratifying paintings.  You will take your painting to the next level whether you are just taking your first steps or are further along your creative path.

Suggested List of Supplies:
Acrylic Paints
You may want to get a set of paints, with various colors (tubes) or start with individual tubes of the three primary colors and white.  You can always purchase additional colors. Liquitex Basics is a good brand to start with. 
For example:
·         Cadmium Red Deep or Primary Red
·         Ultramarine Blue
·         Cadmium Yellow Medium Hue or Primary Yellow
·         Titanium White
Acrylic Paint Brushes-Variety of Shapes and Size
For example:
·         Round Brushes, Size 2 and Size 6
·         Flat Brushes, Size 2, Size 5 and Size 10
Other Supplies:
·         Palette Knife
·         Canson XL Watercolor Paper Pad, 140 lb.
7”x10” or 9”x12”
·         Stretched Canvas or Canvas Panels (2 to 3)
11”x14” or 16”x20”
·         Palette (Styrofoam meat trays or plastic plates are fine or a purchased palette such as Masterson Sta-Wet)

Instructor:

Linda Keck has always enjoyed creating artwork and sharing the process with others.  She is an art instructor, art therapist and a licensed psychologist.  She has taught numerous studio art courses at Luzerne County Community College, Misericordia University, and Wyoming Valley Art League, facilitated Artist Retreats and conducted Expressive Arts Workshops.  Linda is accomplished in working with many art mediums, and especially enjoys painting with watercolor and acrylics.
