After you graduate, you’ll qualify to take exams for nurse practitioner certification, which can elevate your standing and create additional opportunities for career advancement and leadership.
This program will teach you the skills needed to conduct initial health assessments and provide consistent, patient-focused care throughout the lifespan of any adult.

Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner Certificate
Provide specialized care for a patient population that includes adolescents, adults, and the elderly. Focus on disease prevention and promote wellness.
You’ll complete 21 credits of clinical specialization courses along with a minimum of 540 hours of direct clinical practice under the supervision of qualified nurse practitioner and physician instructors.

With an online post master’s certificate in adult-gerontology primary care, you will be eligible to sit for an AGNP certification examination administered by a nationally recognized certifying organization, such as:
- American Nurses Credentialing Corporation (ANCC) — offers certification for acute and primary
- American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) — offers certification for primary only
- American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) — offers certification for acute only
