Student Help Desk
Misericordia University provides all students with a technology help desk whose mission is to provide help and support to students with their technology issues.
Misericordia University strives to provide all students with support for their technology needs and issues through the I.T. Student Helpdesk.
The Misericordia University’s Information Technology (IT) Student Helpdesk tier 1 support is provided by our strategic partner (BlackBelt). This support is available 24x7x365, regardless of whether the University is officially open or closed. The Misericordia University’s IT Physical Student Helpdesk, which supports both tier 1 and tier 2 support is located on the first floor of the Mary Kintz Bevevino Library on the Misericordia University main campus. The standard hours of operation for the physical Student Helpdesk are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 4:30pm. These hours may fluctuate at times to respond to other areas of support.
Blackbelt is available to service and support students in resolving their issues at any time. Blackbelt may also escalate issues requiring tier 2 support to the physical helpdesk when necessary, providing the case documentation to the physical helpdesk for further response to the student or issue. Issues reported to the student helpdesk are handled on a first come first serve basis. Issues are resolved as quickly as possible and in most cases within one business day.
The Helpdesk addresses Wi-Fi, computer software, cellular phone, myMU, email, Internet issues, and basic Blackboard assistance.
Students are provided the privilege of internet and network connectivity while they remain a current student of Misericordia University. The students may access the network/Internet via wireless and/or wired connections. The privilege of access for students is governed by several University policies as well as specific IT policies, procedures, and guidelines, which are put in place to ensure that IT meets the needs of all participants of the campus network.
