Student Help Desk
Misericordia University provides all students with a technology help desk whose mission is to provide help and support to students with their technology issues.
The Misericordia University IT Student Helpdesk is available 24x7x365, regardless if the University is officially open or closed. The Misericordia University IT Physical Student Helpdesk has partnered with Pearson to provide support to all students regardless if the physical helpdesk is open/closed. The Physical IT Student Helpdesk is located in room 25 on the ground level of Mercy Hall at the Misericordia University main campus. The standard hours of operation for the physical Student Helpdesk are Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 6:00pm. Hours may change at times to respond to other areas of support . Pearson is available to service and support students in resolving their issues at any time. Pearson may also escalate issues to the physical helpdesk when necessary providing the case documentation to the physical helpdesk for further response to the student or issue.
Issues reported to the student helpdesk are handled on a first come first serve basis. Issues are resolved as quickly as possible and in most cases within one business day. The Helpdesk addresses Wi-Fi, computer, cellular phone, myMU, email, and Internet issues. First tier support of Blackboard is provided as is escalation to the online learning services department.
Students are provided the privilege of internet and network connectivity while they remain a current student of Misericordia University. The students may access the network/Internet via wireless and/or wired connections. The privilege of access for students is governed by several University policies as well as specific IT policies, procedures and guidelines, which are put in place to ensure that IT meets the needs of all participants of the campus network. Starting Fall of 2020, the physical helpdesk will continue to assist students with diagnostic services on software issues, and recommend area solution providers for all hardware issues that the student can contract with to address any hardware issues they may have.
