Annual David A. Evans Color Run
Sunday, September 22nd, 2024
10:00am
The David A. Evans Memorial Color Run is held each year on the campus of Misericordia University in honor of David Evans, Jr. who died by suicide on April 11, 2014. David was the son of Dr. Dawn Evans, associate professor in the Occupational Therapy Department and her husband Dave Evans. The 5K color run is sponsored by Misericordia Student Occupational Therapy Association (MSOTA) and the New Student & Family Programs department with all proceeds going to the David A. Evans, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund at Holy Redeemer High School in Wilkes-Barre, PA where David was a student. Each year, graduating seniors at Holy Redeemer who have enrolled as an incoming first year student at Misericordia University are given the opportunity to apply for the scholarship fund. To date, over $33,000 has been awarded to graduating students pursuing a career at Misericordia. On the day of the race, there are dozens of raffle baskets donated by MU clubs and local businesses with community participation of local agencies supporting the cause of suicide awareness. The color run is open to all ages on campus and our local communities.
Pre-registration has closed; however, you can still register for the Annual David A. Evans Color Run at the Anderson Sports & Health Center the day of and prior to the start of the event.
The event will be starting at 10:00am on Sunday, September 22.
