Our Mission

The Office for Mission, Ministry and Service at Misericordia University serves the Mission of the University by making visible and effective our Mercy Charisms and Catholic Tradition. We seek to respond to the Critical Concerns of the Sisters of Mercy through advocacy, education and action. We seek to reach out and respect persons of all faith backgrounds and traditions while inviting them to join us in our mission. We strive to seek and build a welcoming, inclusive community.

We do this by

  •  Celebrating our Catholic faith through prayer and liturgies;
  •  Educating our students to care for others through compassionate service

  •  Helping to support our students in their own discernment process

  •  Aiding in the development of a personal spirituality in our students

  • Fostering a passion for social justice issues that enable our students to be advocates on behalf of those who are poor, oppressed and marginalized;

  • Empowering students to be servant leaders in the community and on campus.

  • Offering pastoral care and support to those in our community.

 * Special note: Any topics/issues that fall under the teachings of the Catholic Church are directed and supervised by the Office for Mission, Ministry and Service.
 * Any other religious groups at the University are also under the direction and supervision of the Office for Mission, Ministry, and Service in consultation with the VP office of Mission Integration and Student Life.
