SART members are volunteer staff and faculty that support students that have been the victim of sexual assault. SART members are not trained counselors, but have undergone SART and Safe Space training.

Any student that has been, or is concerned they may become the victim of sexual assault can reach out to SART. CAs and other MU members can also contact SART on behalf of a victim. Faculty and staff can also contact SART for advice concerning a student or themselves.

The SART hotline is available 24 hours a day while classes are in session. It does not matter how long ago the assault occurred - students can call for help whenever they are ready. While Sexual Assault Forensic Exam and hospital treatment may only be an option in the first 72 hours following an assault, SART is always able to provide information and referral to other support services in the weeks and months after an assault has occurred.

SART’s primary concern is the safety of the student and getting them to the right support services both on and off campus.
● Transport and accompaniment to hospital for medical treatment and/or a Sexual Assault Forensic Exam
● Information and referral to confidential support services on and off campus
● Information and referral of off-campus victims services, such as the Victims Resource Center
● A listening and supportive ear

The PACT (Promoting Awareness of the College Transition) was originally developed to assist students in the transition from high school to college.  The transition can be exciting and overwhelming as students meet new people, immerse themselves in a new environment, and begin a new phase of their academic careers.

PACT serves as an opportunity for members of the Misericordia University community to speak with new first-year students about healthy relationships, relationship violence and sexual assault.  

The transition from high school to college is an exciting and meaningful time full of potential for learning and growth.  PACT seeks to empower students with knowledge and skills to foster a campus community that is safe, healthy and free from violence and threats.  Therefore, consider this program both an educational and preventative endeavor.
