Welcome to the Health & Wellness Center

A Healthier You Begins at MU!

The Health & Wellness Center is under the direction of a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Our staff is dedicated to the health and wellness needs of our students with our goal being to provide the best possible evidence-based health care in a manner which is competent, compassionate, confidential and timely, all within an atmosphere of mutual respect and responsibility without regard to race, gender, ethnic heritage, or sexual orientation.

The Nurse Practitioner treats acute and chronic medical conditions. All full-time undergraduates (those students registered for 12 or more credit hours) and all full-time graduate students (those students registered for eight or more hours) are eligible to use the Health Center if enrolled in Medicat.

Handicap Parking Permit

If medically necessary, the Health & Wellness Center can approve the need for a temporary handicap parking sticker. The student must bring a note from their primary care provider (PCP) stating the medical reason as to why a handicap parking sticker is warranted. Upon approval by the Center's Director, the student will then be sent to Campus Safety where the temporary parking sticker will be issued for a maximum of 4 weeks. If longer duration is necessary the student will need to go through their PCP who will make a request to the state, on the students behalf, for a permanent handicap parking permit

Self Care Room & Medications

Within the Health & Wellness Center there is the Self Care & Resource room. This room is designed as a teaching model in order to encourage and empower our students to be proactive with their health care needs. This room contains a plethora of up-to-date educational materials in addition to basic over-the-counter (OTC) medications and supplies - all at no cost to our students.

In addition, through a partnership with Pharmedix and several local Pharmacies, the Health Center keeps a supply of commonly used prescriptions in the clinic in order to provide convenient, prompt treatment for our students. There is a $10.00-$15.00 charge for these items.

**In keeping with our Catholic values, the Health & Wellness Center does not distribute condoms or any other type of birth control**
