Geriatric Rehabiliation Book

DALLAS, PA - The Geriatric Rehabilitation Manual was published in the 1st and 2nd Editions with Dr. Michael Moran as one of the co-editors.

The title, published by Elsevier, was changed to A Comprehensive Guide to Geriatric Rehabilitation for the 3rd Edition with co-editors, Timothy Kauffman, Ron Scott, John Barr and Michael Moran, Professor Emeritus, Misericordia University. When searching for a geriatric rehabilitation text, Dr. Hao, (Howe), Liu and his associates chose this 3rd Edition to be translated into Chinese for their care-providers. Dr. Liu, now the Chair of the Department of Physical Therapy, Louisiana State University and his associates selected the text, A Comprehensive Guide to Geriatric Rehabilitation, because they decided it was the best in the English market. There were 57 members of the Chinese Compilation Committee who provided the translation of the English text. The 2nd Edition, used worldwide, was translated into Portuguese.

This book published in late 2023 in Chinese, under the direction of Misericordia’s own Dr. Michael Moran and the other co-editors, along with several contributors from Misericordia University is now the principle geriatric rehabilitation text in China and will affect care for over 280 million persons over the age of 60 years in China. The English version of the text had been available in China but now reaches all care-providers in China and their patients.
