Misericordia University is ranked 369 among over 800 colleges and universities from across the United States in the Wall Street Journal/Times 2022 Higher Education College Rankings. Misericordia rose 30 spots since last year’s ranking.

The WSJ/THE rankings are based on 15 factors divided into four categories: resources, engagement, outcomes, and campus environment. The heavily weighted (40 percent) outcomes category uses data that includes graduates’ salaries and debt; an additional 30 percent of the ranking comes from measuring academic resources, the funds an institution devotes directly to teaching; 20 percent of the ranking score stems from student engagement, that includes direct input from students on their opinion of the real-world relevance of their degree, and 10 percent of the ranking relates to the learning environment, including the diversity on campus. According to WSJ/THE, their rankings “focus on outputs, emphasizing the return on investment students see after they graduate.”

Another organization, collegefactual.com, recently released their college ratings which placed Misericordia University at 375 out of 2,576 institutions in their Best Schools Ranking. These rankings put the school in the top 15 percent of all colleges and universities in the country. Additionally, Misericordia placed first out of 19 other programs in Pennsylvania for both Best Health Sciences & Services Bachelor’s Degree Schools and Best General Health Services/Allied Health/Health Sciences Bachelor’s Degree Schools. The collegefactual.com methodology includes publicly reported data on university accreditation, employment after graduation, demand, education/engagement, peer score (test scores and student diversity), and student debt.

Misericordia University President Daniel J. Myers, Ph.D., says this about the recently released rankings, “These are yet more third-party evaluations of our university that put us against not just institutions in our region but against all of the nation’s most well-known colleges. Our outcomes measures in these rankings exceed many other schools of our type, indicating that our commitment to academic challenge, professional competence, and personal attention for each student in a supportive campus environment leads to great things once students graduate.”

Misericordia is also ranked nationally by U.S. News and World Report in their 2022 edition of best colleges. In addition, MU received recent notice that it is ranked as a Best Northeastern College by the Princeton Review in their 2022 rankings publication.
