Misericordia Student Places Third in Nation in Two FBLA Competitions
DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University sophomore Kaitlyn Marley placed third in the nation in both the Finance Case Competition and the Entrepreneurship Pitch Competition at the 2024 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) National Leadership Conference, held May 30 to June 2 in Dallas, Texas.
A dual Chemistry/Pre-Med and Business Administration major, Marley has been instrumental in establishing Misericordia's Collegiate Chapter of FBLA. After first becoming involved with the organization as a high school student at Hazleton Area, she recognized the opportunity to bring FBLA to the university and, with support from the College of Business, founded the chapter in 2022.
In just its second year of competition, the chapter is gaining national recognition. Marley's third-place national finishes come on the heels of a strong showing at the Pennsylvania FBLA State Leadership Conference, where she placed second in Entrepreneurship Pitch and third in Finance Case Competition. Misericordia student Kimberly Powell earned first place in Business Communication at the state level, and Dylan Ramirez placed fourth in Foundations of Hospitality.
FBLA is one of the largest career student organizations in the world, offering students opportunities to develop business knowledge, hone leadership skills, and compete at the state and national levels. The organization's mission align with Misericordia's commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and service.
Marley is advised by Michelle Conway, instructor or entrepreneurship and management and the university's FBLA faculty advisor.
