Misericordia University Announces Student Teacher Placements for Spring Semester

DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University teacher education majors recently received their spring student teaching assignments and participated in an orientation program, including Youth Mental Health Awareness Certification. 

The fifteen-week student teaching experience allows teacher candidates to apply principles and theories from their program to actual practice in the classroom across diverse populations, ages, and school settings. Under the supervision of Misericordia faculty and highly-qualified cooperating teachers, teacher candidates make connections with content areas, cognitive development, motivation, and learning styles, while demonstrating the complex competencies and responsibilities required by effective classroom teachers.

The Teacher Education Department is one of the University’s oldest departments. Many of the original students who entered College Misericordia in 1924 became teachers.
