Misericordia University Blends Art and Athletics at Junior Basketball Clinic

DALLAS, PA - Dozens of local children participated in a free Junior Basketball Clinic hosted by Misericordia University on Sunday, April 13, in the Anderson Center. The event, a collaboration between the Pauly Friedman Art Gallery and the university's basketball teams, provided kids ages 5-13 with an afternoon of games, skill-building activities, and fun.

Participants practiced teamwork alongside Misericordia student-athletes, while also learning about the unique connection between art and sports. Each child received a colorful size 6 basketball, repurposed from artist David Huffman's Basketball Pyramid installation, which was featured in the Personal to Political: Celebrating the African American Artists of Paulson Fontaine Press exhibition at the Pauly Friedman Art Gallery earlier this spring.
