Misericordia University Celebrates Black History Month with Engaging Events and Cultural Programs
DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University celebrated Black History Month in February with a variety of events and activities honoring African American history, arts, and traditions. The month-long celebration fostered cultural awareness, education, and unity across campus through performances, workshops, discussions, and interactive experiences.
A highlight of this year's celebration was the Personal to Political: Celebrating the African American Artists of Paulson Fontaine Press exhibition at the Pauly Friedman Art Gallery, offering an in-depth look at African American artistry and social themes.
Additional programming included a step performance by the Player's Club Steppers, a film screening of The Innocence Files, an African bracelet-making workshop, and a community conversation over a shared meal, Students also enjoyed interactive activities such as a cooking class and Mardi Gras Bingo.
Misericordia University further engaged the campus community with themed Spirit Days that encouraged participation and reflection on Black history and culture.
