Misericordia University Cheerleading Competition Collects Over 1,600 Food Items in Charity Cup Challenge

DALLAS, PA — Misericordia University successfully hosted its annual Charity Cup Challenge in conjunction with the University’s Cheerleading Competition on Sunday, November 3, 2025. Participating teams and their supporters were encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, with the team donating the highest total earning the coveted Charity Cup award and free registration to next year’s event.

This year’s drive resulted in a collection of 1,633 non-perishable food items, all of which were distributed to three local food pantries: Fellowship Church Food Pantry, Sweet Valley Church of Christ Food Pantry, and Misericordia University’s own McCauley Market.

Senior team members Alaina Leisenring and Emily Malia served as student leads for this year’s Charity Cup Food Drive, coordinating the effort and helping ensure another successful year of community impact.

Misericordia University extends its gratitude to all teams, families, and supporters whose generosity continues to strengthen local food assistance programs and uphold the University’s mission of service.
