Misericordia University Dedicates Brassington Athletic Dome
Misericordia University Hosts Brassington Athletic Dome Dedication Ceremony
DALLAS, PA - On Friday, October 18, 2024, the Misericordia University community gathered to honor the memory of Linda Zebrowski Brassington '98 during the dedication ceremony of the newly named Brassington Athletic Dome. The event brought together students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends to celebrate Linda's enduring legacy of hope, love, and resilience.
Linda, a dedicated physical therapy alumna, left an indelible mark on the university and those who knew her. After a courageous 15-year battle with breast cancer, she passed away earlier this year, but her spirit continues to inspire all. The dome, now a multi-purpose facility for student-athletes, stands as a testament to her unwavering strength and commitment to the Misericordia community.
The ceremony was a poignant reminder of Linda's impact, particularly through the love and support of her family. Her husband, Jonathan A. Brassington '95, delivered heartfelt remarks, expressing appreciation for the community's support and his dedication to preserving Linda's legacy at the university. Their sons Luke and Cole were present, symbolizing the deep family connection as they honored their mother's memory.
Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed light refreshments and the opportunity to connect, reminisce, and share stories about Linda. The Brassington family's generous support for the dome ensures that her legacy will benefit future generations of student-athletes, fostering the same spirit of perseverance and care that Linda exemplified throughout her life.
The dedication of the Brassington Athletic Dome not only honors Linda's memory but also serves as a symbol of community strength, unity, and the enduring bonds forged at Misericordia University.
