Misericordia University Honored with Habitat for Humanity Volunteer Award

DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University was honored with the Herm Shiplett Volunteer Award by Habitat for Humanity of the Wyoming Valley during a special home dedication ceremony on April 13. The award recognizes an individual or group that has demonstrated exceptional commitment and unselfish support of Habitat's mission over the past year.

Named in memory of Herm Shiplett, the unofficial site director for several of Habitat's early projects, the award celebrates a spirit of dedication and service. Misericordia was recognized for its ongoing partnership and volunteer efforts that helped make a new home possible for a local family.

Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that builds simple, decent homes to sell to families in need.

The university community's contributions continue to reflect Misericordia's values of service, compassion, and community engagement.
