Misericordia University Hosts Sport Management Symposium
DALLAS, PA - In February, Misericordia University hosted the Sport Management Symposium, focusing on "Emerging Trends in Professional Sports and Collegiate Athletics."
The event brought together industry experts to discuss the rapid changes in the sports industry, emphasizing disruptions and innovations in technology, legal aspects, and social media impacting sport management today.
The symposium featured two main panel discussions. The Collegiate Athletics Panel included Jeff Levine, Associate Athletic Director at the University of Pennsylvania; Christopher Brolley, Associate at Troutman Pepper; Mike Trudnak, Associate Athletic Director at Temple University; and Joseph Frio, Director of Compliance at Villanova University.
The Professional Sports Panel featured David Gargone, Program Director of Sport Management at Misericordia University, Mario Oliveri, Director of Season Ticket Sales and Service for the New York Yankees; Chris Sipsky, Director of Corporate Partnerships for the Philadelphia 76ers; and Alyssa Levandoski, Manager of Partnership Activation for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The event also included a Distinguished Speaker Series featuring Sandra Douglass Morgan, President of the Las Vegas Raiders, who shared insights from her extensive experience in the sports industry.
