Misericordia University Hosts “Textures of Remembrance” Art Exhibit Reflecting on Vietnamese Diaspora

DALLAS, Pa. — Misericordia University’s Pauly Friedman Art Gallery is proud to present Textures of Remembrance: Vietnamese Artists and Writers Reflect on the Vietnamese Diaspora, on display now through Sunday, September 21.

Featuring works by 25 artists and writers, the exhibition explores the lasting impact of the Vietnam War—marking 50 years since its end—through photography, printmaking, and performance. The collection honors the resilience and memory of more than 100,000 refugees who fled Vietnam and rebuilt their lives across the United States, carrying with them stories of loss, survival, and cultural identity.

Textures of Remembrance is a traveling exhibition created through a partnership among the Diasporic Vietnamese Artists Network, Exhibit Envoy, and the Oakland Asian Cultural Center. The project is made possible with support from California Humanities and the California Arts Council.
