DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University is pleased to announce the launch of its Bachelor of Science in Public Health program, designed to prepare students for meaningful careers focused on improving public health.
The program offers a comprehensive curriculum that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to contribute significantly to public health initiatives. Students will be prepared to plan, manage, and evaluate public health services; function as public health professionals in various settings, including public agencies and the private sector; and provide leadership in the field of public health.
The coursework includes instruction in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health principles, preventative medicine, health policy and regulations, health care services, public health law enforcement, health economics and budgeting, public communications, and professional standards and ethics.
The program emphasizes an interdisciplinary approach, with students taking courses across various disciplines in the natural and behavioral sciences and humanities to prepare them for a wide range of possible careers. It also incorporates a commitment to social justice, focusing on the "public" and "service" aspects of the curriculum.
