Misericordia University Launches New Bachelor’s Degree Program in Artificial Intelligence

DALLAS, PA - Misericordia University is proud to announce the launch of a new Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (AI), offered through the University’s Department of Mathematical Sciences, beginning in the Fall 2026 semester.

The new program is designed to prepare students for the rapidly growing and evolving field of artificial intelligence by combining technical expertise with real-world application. As AI continues to transform industries worldwide, demand is increasing for professionals who can design, evaluate, and apply intelligent systems in meaningful and responsible ways. From healthcare and business to education, cybersecurity, and data analytics, AI is reshaping how organizations solve complex problems and make informed decisions.

“Students in the program will explore machine learning, data-driven decision making, and intelligent systems to design AI solutions for real-world challenges across industries,” said Steven J. Tedford, Ph.D., professor and chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences, Statistics Program Director, and Data Science Program Director at Misericordia University.

Designed as an interdisciplinary program, the Bachelor’s in Artificial Intelligence integrates coursework in mathematics, computer science, and data science while emphasizing hands-on learning and applied problem solving.
