DALLAS, PA - Faculty and alumni from Misericordia University's Occupational Therapy Department showcased their research and professional expertise at the 2025 American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) INSPIRE Conference, held April 3-5 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.
A robust lineup of presentations highlighted innovative approaches to clinical education, sensory integration, community partnerships, and leadership in occupational therapy. Misericordia faculty, including Drs. Megan Hazleton, Jennifer Washko, Chelsea Smith, Lalit Shah, Ashley Corrigan, Lori Charney, Amanda Salak, Ellen McLaughlin, Kathy Hughes-Butcher, Karen Weis, Suzanne Marasco, and Emily Witts, led a variety of poster sessions covering topics from co-regulation neuroscience to inclusive sensory environments.
Alumni from the university's MSOT, PPOTD, and BSOT programs also participated prominently. Their research spanned mental health, pediatric rehabilitation, fieldwork education, leadership in school-based practice, and more. Notable alumni presenters included Kristen Maisano, Kaitlin Manbeck, Ryan Vetter, Tina DeAngeles, Lydia Navarro-Walker, Tracey Demaria, Katherine Landsiedel, Kelly Mahler, and Nicole Spaldo, among others.
