Misericordia University Players to Perform “Green Day’s American Idiot”
The Misericordia University Players will be performing “Green Day’s American Idiot” this April. The show will offer four performances, April 18-20, the show will be held at 7:30 p.m., and on April 21, it will be held at 2:00 p.m. All shows will be in Lemmond Theater.
Utilizing the iconic sound of Green Day, “American Idiot” follows the story of three 20-something young men raised in suburbia as they try to navigate their way through life. One chooses the big city, one joins the military, and one decides to stay home. This high-octane musical observes these three men through their relationships, their mistakes, and, most of all, their journey to become the men they hope to be.
“What makes this show exciting is how it is so different from anything that Misericordia shows have been in the past,” said Morgan Gayton, Social Media Coordinator for Misericordia Players. “The draw of Green Day in itself is a big selling point for me.”
General Admission to the play is 8 dollars at the door and 3 dollars for students with an ID. Reservations can be made by calling the theater box office at 570-674-3069.
Scott Colin Woolnough, coordinator of the Alternative Learners Program at Misericordia University, program director for Theatre and is the director of this Misericordia Players production.
