DALLAS, PA – Misericordia University’s Social Work Department was recognized by Volunteers in Medicine (VIM) for its outstanding partnership in community-based education during the organization’s annual Volunteers Luncheon, held on February 11.

The department received the honor in recognition of its continued collaboration with Volunteers in Medicine and its commitment to preparing students for careers in service-oriented fields. The partnership supports both educational opportunities for students and essential healthcare services for the community.

Currently, one Misericordia University social work student is completing a spring semester internship with the Behavioral Health Manager at Volunteers in Medicine. The placement provides hands-on experience in a community healthcare setting, reinforcing classroom learning through direct engagement with patients and professionals.

The Social Work Department continues to build strong community partnerships that enhance student learning while addressing local needs. To learn more, click here
