DALLAS, PA — Misericordia’s Insalaco Center for Professional Development and Leadership sponsored four students to attend the Family Service Association’s National Family Week Conference on November 7. This year’s theme: The Whole Helper: Nourishing the People Behind the Purpose (a David & Lillian Thalenfeld Family Life Series Program). Presenting Sponsors were The Thalenfeld Family Charitable Trust and AllOne Charities.

The center encourages and supports students in expanding their learning beyond the classroom. The students who attended include Madison Rodriguez (Social Work), Gabrielle Van Horn (Psychology), Joshua Wickard (Health Science), and Allyson Wilson (Medical & Health Humanities). They were accompanied by Johnna Evans, Corporate Relations Coordinator.

Students learned from experts on topics such as dealing with burnout, setting boundaries, and coping with laughter. Representatives from area organizations and agencies also provided information on their programs and services. In addition, the event gave students the opportunity to get to know each and collaborate across different majors.

The Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania, a not-for-profit, non-sectarian organization, provides diverse services to children, individuals, seniors, and families, empowering them to achieve their full potential through building healthier relationships and stronger communities.
